Hello and thanks for visiting! I am the owner and operator of Room to Bloom Preschool & Child Care in Ellington, CT. Room to Bloom is a licensed "family day care", which means that we are smaller than the "group" centers where all too often, children don't get the one-on-one attention they need. We provide a safe, loving and nurturing environment for children (infants to school-age) where they can truly "bloom".
I am a State of Connecticut Certified Preschool Teacher as well as a public school (Ellington and South Windsor) para-professional. During my 25+ years of professional experience, I have held the position of Assistant Director for a well known child care center, I was co-operator of a family day care center and from 1999 to 2005, I owned and operated a licensed family day care in my home.
One of my goals as a Program Director is to foster an attitude of joy toward learning in each child. My time spent as a childcare professional has afforded me excellent judgment in many situations involving parents and students. Our child-centered program runs on a schedule that can be counted on, but one that is also flexible enough to address each child’s needs. Safety and consistency are always our focus.
My husband, of over 25 years, Scott (who is also a licensed day care provider) and I have lived in Ellington since 1998. In that time, I was a member, and eventually, the President of the Ellington Junior Women's Club. Scott has served as a Committee member for the Ellington Cub Scouts (Pack 96). We have 3 extraordinary children; Logan (a recent University of Hartford graduate), Alec (a dual-major at UConn) and Amanda (a high-honors high school freshman).
